In the middle of the road of my life I awoke in the dark wood where the true way was wholly lost.
And so, in its 35th year, my own journey intensified with what is commonly called a "midlife crisis"; or as Brene Brown refers to it - "my unraveling".
During that time, when much of what I had been doing, practicing and believing stopped working and in fact began hurting me; I began a period of deep, soul- searching, healing and personal growth. My own experiences of practicing Reiki, Spiritual Direction, Yoga and Shamanic Holistic Care during that time eventually led me to discern callings to formally study each.
My life has been and continues to be positively changed and made more whole because of my practice of these disciplines. They have complemented and enriched my experience of the more traditional forms of self-care in which I engage and helped me break out of boxes that were suffocating my spirit, body and mind.
I respect all spiritual paths and recognize the need for compassionate soul friending in these times of stress and turmoil. You will find me to be an inter-spiritual, ecumenical friend to anyone sincerely desiring to explore their spiritual journey and deepen their relationship with the Ultimate Mystery whom I call, my Higher Power, the Beloved, Sophia, the Universe, and God.
When I'm not working, you may find me playing with the family dog, tending the chickens, kayaking, gardening, bird watching, fishing, cooking, crafting, reading many things - (especially poetry), watching Reds baseball or OSU football/basketball, practicing Kundalini Yoga, practicing Qigong . . . daydreaming with a cat or three on my lap and seeing God's presence in all. I've been married to my best friend and partner in playfully living life since 1994.
